This course offers certification at QQI Level 4 Major Award in Retail Skills.
This course is part of a Progression Route for WYTEC learners. The focus is on progression to Further Education (internally/externally) or employment.

Progression routes include possible employment in the retail or service sectors and further training at level 5

Course Description
In retail Skills Learners prepare for working in shops, customer service and sales environments.
Activities will include:
• Practice using a till with debit/credit card machine
• Use of computers
• Customer service
• Workplace Safety
• Discussions and Debates
• Learning about consumer rights and responsibilities
• Work experience placement
• Promotion of self care and well- being
Certification leading to a Major QQI Award

Are you eligible for an ETB (Education Training Board) Training Allowance?

Yes – you are entitled to an ETB Training Allowance

I am Over 18

To qualify for a Training Allowance you must be in receipt of any of the following payments:

  • Jobseekers Benefit/Allowance
  • One Parent Family Allowance
  • Disability Benefit

Applicants must be between the ages of 16 – 21 years.

No Qualifications Yes – you are eligible
Junior Certificate Yes – you are eligible
Leaving Certificate Applied An application on your behalf will be made to WWETB (Waterford Wexford Education Training Board)No Guarantee of Acceptance
Leaving Certificate No – not Eligible

The course is run on a full-time basis from Monday – Friday
